From
National Velvet to Cleopatra, Elizabeth Taylor movies are beloved classics. The
actress was also know for giving back through numerous charitable donations and
her nonprofit, The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. This year, I had the honor of photographing two
events honoring Liz
First, The
Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, in partnership with Macy's, gave $25,000 to Lost-n-Found
Youth, an Atlanta-based nonprofit to end homelessness among LGBTQ youth.
Next, I was
invited to photograph the grand opening of Liz, a block-long mixed-use development by Fivesquares Development and Whitman-Walker Health System on
14th Street NW between R and Riggs streets.
The development, named for the Elizabeth Taylor Medical Center, includes
78 apartments, office and retail space, as well as room for cultural activities and outdoor
gatherings.

With a view like this, you may never want to leave Liz. |
While the beloved actress and philanthropist
has passed on, her legacy lives on.
