The Not So Golden Ray Remains

The Golden Ray remains in St. Simons Sound.

 

In September 2019, Golden Ray, a cargo ship owned by Hyundai Glovis, capsized and caught fire in St. Simons Sound off the coast of Brunswick, Georgia.  Among the ship's 4,000+ vehicles were Kia Tellurides, Chevrolet Blazers and Equinoxes,  GMC Terrains, full-size GM SUVs, Mercedes-Benz SUVs, and Ram pickups. 

Almost two years later, it still remains.  This photograph was taken on May 9, 2021, at Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island, Georgia.
