Reflections on the 79th Annual Kiwanis Spalding County Fair: A Community Celebration

 

The residents of Griffin, Georgia, recently came together to celebrate one of their most cherished local traditions—the Kiwanis Spalding County Fair. This year's event marked the 79th annual fair, showcasing the enduring spirit and community pride that has kept this beloved event thriving for nearly eight decades.

A Midway to Remember


The fair's Midway, designed by the renowned Primetime Carnival Company, delivered a spectacular array of attractions and family-friendly entertainment. Attendees were treated to dazzling rides, challenging games, and a variety of food stalls that delighted visitors of all ages. From the thrilling heights of the Ferris wheel to the nostalgic charm of the carousel, the Midway truly offered something for everyone.














Family Fun at Its Best

Beyond the Midway, the Kiwanis Spalding County Fair provided a host of activities and events. One show in particular had the audience on the edge of their seats—the Fox BMX Stunt Show. Featuring a lineup of sensational athletes, the show was a dazzling display of skill, courage, and pure adrenaline.

K9s in Flight, the high-flying canine performers, wowed the crowd with their incredible frisbee-catching skills and agility demonstrations, leaving both children and adults in awe of their talent and energy. 





Visitors also enjoyed agricultural exhibits, and arts and crafts displays showcasing the creativity of Griffin's residents. 

The younger crowd enjoyed the Kids Zone, which featured a petting zoo, inflatables and Disney Princesses. Fairgoers also indulged in classic treats like funnel cakes, cotton candy, and the beloved corn dogs, which sold out. 

Supporting the Community

This fair was more than just a fun-filled event; it was an opportunity to support a worthy cause. Proceeds from the fair funds various community projects led by the Kiwanis Club, including scholarships, youth programs and initiatives benefiting local charities.
