Sterling Holloway, a beloved figure in the world of entertainment, hailed from the small town of Cedartown, Georgia. Born on January 4, 1905, (Happy Birthday) Holloway's distinctive voice and charming persona would go on to captivate audiences across generations. His early life in Cedartown was marked by a deep appreciation for storytelling and performance, which he cultivated through local theater and school plays. This early exposure laid the foundation for a career that would see him become one of the most recognizable voices in animation history. 

Holloway's move to Hollywood in the 1920s marked the beginning of a prolific career in both film and television. He became synonymous with his roles in Walt Disney productions, lending his voice to iconic characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Kaa in “The Jungle Book,” and the Cheshire Cat in “Alice in Wonderland.” His warm, whimsical voice brought these characters to life, endearing him to audiences young and old. The festival features a Sterling Holloway exhibit and a Pooh Stick (wooden honey dipper) race down the Big Spring overflow channel. The vendors are varied and offer everything from local honey to handcrafted jewelry, beard oils, soaps, customized drink ware, home decor and more! The festival not only pays tribute to Holloway's contributions to entertainment but also fosters a sense of community and pride in Cedartown, ensuring that his spirit continues to inspire future generations.
